The Mount Dora History Museum, opened in 1979, displays historical photographs, objects and stories spanning from the 1870s to the present day. The museum works alongside the Mount Dora Archives, a collaborative project that collects, preserves and digitizes historical photographs, documents and publications to further understanding of Mount Dora's early days. The Historical Society also maintains Mount Carmel-Simpson Cemetery, established in 1883 for orange grove workers and containing 61 graves that were restored in 2010.
