About Violette Hill Hay Farm

Violette Hill Hay Farm in Mount Dora offers hands-on farm experiences centered on animal interaction and agricultural education. Visitors can meet and cuddle with Pumpkin, the farm's capybara, spending time with the largest rodents in the world known for their friendly and laid-back personalities. The farm operates Farm School programs including single classes and multi-week courses in animal husbandry, farm carpentry, mechanics, and veterinary care. Toddler classes are also available. Open Farm Days allow families to explore the property and connect with animals. The capybara encounter program, called Pumpkins with Pumpkin, provides a fall-season meet-and-greet experience. Animal Husbandry Homestead Programs span eight to ten weeks and progress through multiple levels, teaching visitors about animal care and farm management. The farm suits both casual visitors seeking a single visit and those interested in structured educational coursework in agricultural and animal husbandry skills.
