About Little White School Museum

The Little White School Museum in downtown Oswego preserves the community's local history in a building constructed as a church in 1850 and used as a school until the mid-1960s. Visitors explore the main gallery to discover Oswego's rich history and view temporary exhibits that rotate through the space. The museum, operated by the Oswegoland Heritage Association in partnership with the Oswegoland Park District, offers fall programming that visitors can register for online. Guided activities include Oswego History Tours focused on the Oswego Township Cemetery and the annual Oswego Cemetery Walk, where participants are guided through the cemetery to visit with characters portraying early Oswego residents and pioneers. The cemetery walk involves approximately 45 minutes of walking, and comfortable shoes are recommended. Research inquiries about local Oswegoland history are welcomed, and the museum's archives support these requests.
