About Leroy King Carousel

Leroy King Carousel, the historic 1906 Looff Carousel at the Children's Creativity Museum, transports riders with organ music through an imaginative ride. Built by renowned craftsman Charles Looff and renamed in 2014 to honor civil rights advocate LeRoy King, the carousel was designated a California Historic Resource in 1984. The carousel sits within Yerba Buena Gardens alongside playgrounds, a tot lot, and interactive art studios. Children 2 and under ride free rather than paying standard admission. Families who qualify for Museums for All also receive free carousel rides. Children under 42 inches tall require a paid adult chaperone for their ride. Visitors explore hands-on creative spaces, outdoor gardens, and seasonal exhibitions throughout the venue. Savings information is verified on yerbabuenagardens.org.
