About Leechburg Area Museum and Historical Society

The Leechburg Area Museum and Historical Society preserves the history of this Western Pennsylvania town through thousands of cultural artifacts housed in the David Leech House, an 1830s structure. Visitors explore displayed canal stones from the Pennsylvania Canal, industrial tools and products, historic business signs, and photographs documenting the area's past. The School Rooms feature Leechburg High School memorabilia, sports uniforms, and personal items from residents, while a gallery displays paintings by local artists. Upstairs, the Military Room showcases uniforms from area veterans. The museum maintains a research library with rare documents from Leechburg's earliest years, historic photographs, period clothing, furniture, and Minetas yearbooks. A free Genealogy Group meets at the museum to help visitors research their family history and ancestral connections.
