About LA Kings Iceland in Paramount
LA Kings Iceland in Paramount is an ice skating facility that opened in 1940 as one of the largest rinks in the country, featuring 20,000 square feet of ice surface. The venue is historically significant as the former home rink of Olympic Figure Skating Gold Medalist Peggy Fleming and houses the Model A Zamboni, which revolutionized ice rink maintenance worldwide. Visitors can participate in public skating sessions suitable for all ages and skill levels. The facility also offers Learn to Skate programs, hockey activities, and Camp Chillin' for younger guests. Hockey instruction and competitive play are available for those interested in the sport. The rink originally operated as an open-air facility before being covered with a domed roof to protect the ice surface from Southern California's sun and dry winds. Skate rentals are provided for visitors who do not have their own equipment.
