About Itpa National Office & Telephone Museum

The ITPA National Office & Telephone Museum in Hinesville houses a vast collection of telephones and telephone equipment spanning the history of the industry. Visitors explore museum displays showing how telephone technology evolved from solid wood, wall-mounted, hand-cranked, operator-directed designs of the past to modern equipment. The museum occupies the former family home of Glenn E. Bryant, a pioneer in the telephone industry who founded Coastal Communications. The 156-acre property, known as Bryant Commons, sits in the heart of Hinesville beneath oak trees draped with Spanish moss. The broader grounds feature an outdoor amphitheater, Veterans Memorial Park, Bramble's Play Ground, Cisco's Dog Park, a 15-acre fishing pond, and walking trails. The museum is open Monday through Friday, with admission charged. Visitors are advised to call ahead to confirm the museum is open on their intended visit day.
