About Midway Museum

Midway Museum displays an extensive collection of 18th- and 19th-century heirloom furnishings, paintings, historical documents, and artifacts that tell the colonial Midway story. Visitors take guided 45-minute tours through the museum building, a replica of a coastal home, to see these preserved pieces. The museum stands in the Midway Historic District near the 1792 Midway Church with its traditional walled cemetery containing graves of Revolutionary War patriots and other historically significant figures. Groups can arrange additional tours of the church and cemetery beyond the main museum visit. The museum's large lower level with full kitchen and bath opens for event rentals, and scenic grounds with live oak trees and Spanish moss provide a backdrop for photographs. The museum operates Tuesday through Saturday with tours only, and accommodates groups of more than six people with advance notice. It sits four miles from I-95, south of Savannah in Liberty County, Georgia, on Highway 17 between Savannah and Darien.
