The Arthur J. Moore Methodist Museum on St. Simons Island features the Southeast's largest nativity collection, displayed across multiple galleries. Upon entering the Rotunda, visitors encounter O Holy Night, a 40-piece life-size papier-mâché nativity by artist Susan Duke Waters that guides viewers through the journey to Bethlehem and invites them to spot hidden items within the scene. The museum also displays a wax figure of Bishop Arthur J. Moore, whose global humanitarian ministry earned him high civilian honors from China and Korea. Historic photographs document Georgia's Methodist bishops and their growing diversity over time. The international nativity collection showcases handcrafted pieces from Bolivia, Kenya, and China, each offering unique cultural perspectives on Christ's birth. The Strickland Wing holds Peruvian wool tree skirts, quilts, wall hangings, and paintings by Methodist minister Kenneth Wyatt portraying Jesus and the Apostles as modern individuals from diverse backgrounds. The museum includes Christ After Chaos, an 8-by-5-foot painting. General admission is free.
