About St Simons Trolley
St. Simons Trolley offers ninety-minute guided tours of St. Simons Island aboard vintage 1930s wooden trolleys, departing daily at 11 a.m. from Pier Village. The tour covers thirty-six points of interest, including a walking tour of the Christ Church Churchyard at historic Christ Church (except Mondays), the Lighthouse—one of only three working lighthouses in Georgia—Bloody Marsh, where an 1742 battle decided the fate of the Southern Colonies, Fort Frederica, the colonial town and fort settled by General James Edward Oglethorpe, and Retreat Plantation, which contains relics from the slavery era. A guide provides entertaining narratives of more than four hundred years of island history and folklore while pointing out the best places to eat, shop, and play. The tour suits visitors seeking an overview of the entire island's history and culture. Tours operate daily from the trolley stop by the Pier in St. Simons Pier Village. Tickets are sold online on the venue's website, and reservations are recommended.
