About Davidson Historical Society

Davidson Historical Society promotes an understanding and appreciation of the history of Davidson, North Carolina and its surrounding area. The organization, established in 1991 by local residents devoted to preserving the region's unique stories and places, offers educational programs four to six times per year. Visitors attend lectures, historic property tours, and walking tours that explore topics ranging from fires and firefighting in Davidson to the life and legacy of Ada Jenkins and the mystery of Peter Stewart Ney. The society also maintains a shop featuring resources such as "One Town, Many Voices: A History of Davidson, North Carolina" and holiday ornaments depicting local landmarks including Eumenean Hall, the Transformer House, and the Helper Hotel.
