Carolina Renaissance Festival in Huntersville, North Carolina immerses visitors in a recreated Renaissance village populated by over 1,000 costumed villagers. The centerpiece is jousting knights on horseback who clash in armor three times daily, with trumpets and thundering hooves. Beyond the Tournament Joust Arena, the festival features majestic falconry demonstrations where birds of prey soar overhead, swimming mermaids in aquariums, fairies creating bubble displays, and friendly dragons. Visitors can ride the Pirate Ship swing and Pirate Catapult trampoline. Over 140 arts and crafts shops showcase artisans at work, including candle carvers, potters at wheels, and jewelers. The festival offers feasting with turkey legs and other fare, live music and dance performances, and games. The attraction suits families with children and adults seeking an interactive historical experience where they walk the grounds, watch performances, shop handcrafted goods, and sample period food throughout the day.
