About Badin Historic Museum

Badin Historic Museum explores the industrial and domestic history of Badin through three separate buildings open to the public. Visitors tour the main museum building, which houses the Hardaway Site exhibit and photographs documenting early town life. The Firehouse Museum displays early firefighting equipment and extensive photo archives of the Narrows Dam and aluminum work at Alcoa. A 1915 French Apartment, moved to the site in 2005, shows how Badin's working families lived during the company town era. The museum operates as a volunteer organization with guided tours available for groups of ten or more with advance notice. Smaller groups of six work best for viewing the buildings. Leashed service dogs are welcome; smoking, food, and beverages are not permitted. The museum is located in Badin, North Carolina.
