About Historic Cabarrus

Historic Cabarrus Association, Inc. operates two museums in Concord dedicated to preserving and sharing the county's history. The Concord Museum, founded in 1939, houses artifacts, documents, and books significant to the community. The Cabarrus County Veterans Museum, opened in 2007, provides exhibits focused on military service and veterans' contributions. Visitors explore displays related to local heritage and regional history. The organization offers education and programming that engage the public with Cabarrus County's past, including genealogy resources through its partnership with the Cabarrus Genealogy Society. The association also hosts Downtown Concord Historic Walking Tours with community partners including the Cabarrus County Public Library and the Old Courthouse Theatre. These tours provide guided exploration of historic sites throughout downtown Concord, helping visitors understand the architectural and cultural significance of the area.
