About Coppell Nature Park

Coppell Nature Park is a 66-acre natural habitat within Wagon Wheel Park on Coppell's west side where visitors hike more than five miles of trails through native vegetation. The park supports hawks, coyotes, bobcats, and over 130 bird species that migrate through annually. The Lou Duggan Biodiversity Education Center provides hands-on environmental education programs for school groups and community members throughout the year. Participants observe and learn about local flora, fauna, and environmental sustainability while developing deeper connections to their natural surroundings. The center features an observation deck for classroom instruction and nature classrooms within the park itself. A visit suits students seeking outdoor learning experiences and citizens wanting a peaceful retreat to explore the local ecosystem. Educational events and programs run continuously at the center, offering structured opportunities to engage with the park's biodiversity and conservation efforts.
