About Commemorative Air Force DFW Wing
The Commemorative Air Force DFW Wing operates a hangar museum at Lancaster Municipal Airport where visitors explore historic, rare aircraft that served during World War II. The Douglas R4D "Ready 4 Duty" and Vultee BT-15 "Little Noodle" are among the vintage planes on display that tell the story of the Greatest Generation's sacrifice and dedication. The facility functions as both a museum and operational home for the aircraft, which travel across the United States for airshows and airport events. Visitors can experience living history through flight demonstrations and educational programs designed to educate and inspire. The DFW Wing, the local Dallas and Fort Worth chapter of the Commemorative Air Force, welcomes families, students, volunteers, and donors to participate in activities involving these historic planes. Members engage in hands-on experiences with the aircraft while learning about aviation history and honoring the nation's heroes.
