About Burleson Train Car Tours and Museum

Burleson Train Car Tours and Museum features the Interurban Express Motor #330 Rail Car, a restored trolley from around 1902 that visitors can tour. The 18,000-pound rail car once ran electrified routes between Fort Worth and Dallas and between Fort Worth and Cleburne from 1902 to 1934, carrying freight and express cargo including ice cream and coffins. The refurbished trolley car now sits on its original wheel sets next to the Burleson Visitors Center. Four informational kiosks surrounding the rail car illustrate the founding of Burleson, development of the Burleson Independent School District, and how the interurban rail system contributed to the city's growth. The rail car is the oldest of its kind in North Texas. Visitors can walk through the restored trolley to experience early twentieth-century railroad transportation. The museum is located in Burleson, Texas, at the Visitors Center in Old Town, adjacent to City Hall.
