About Bancroft Gallery

Bancroft Gallery exhibits items from The Bancroft Library collections, with displays that change once or twice yearly to showcase the breadth of the holdings. Visitors take self-guided tours through labeled exhibits featuring books and other materials from the library's archives. The gallery is adjacent to The Bancroft Library's foyer at the east entrance of Doe Library Annex, facing the Campanile Esplanade. The space accommodates school groups of up to twenty students with at least two adult supervisors. Visitors must follow gallery rules: no food or drink, no photography, and no touching exhibition cases or items. Bags larger than ten by twelve by three inches must be stored in lockers. Cell phones and electronic devices are prohibited in the gallery. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from ten in the morning to four in the afternoon, closed weekends and administrative holidays. Bancroft Gallery is located in Berkeley, California, on the University of California campus and is wheelchair accessible.
