About Andalusia Historic House, Gardens & Arboretum

Andalusia Historic House, Gardens & Arboretum is a 50-acre estate north of Philadelphia where visitors explore Greek Revival architecture, formal gardens, and native woodlands on self-guided or led tours. The Big House, a National Historic Landmark, showcases the home of Nicholas Biddle, President of the Second Bank of the United States, with exquisite interiors and a distinctive art collection spanning from the 1790s onward. Weekly garden tours led by staff highlight plants in bloom and cultivation work. Visitors stroll formal gardens and preserved woodlands, take in river views from lawn seating, or bring picnics. The property includes an 1830s greenhouse and other historic structures. A visit involves a self-guided garden tour, optional one-hour house tour, or both. Located in Bensalem, children 12 and under are free with Gardens Admission through November 13 and also free with Big House Tour plus Gardens Admission through the same date.
