About Western Museum of Flight

Western Museum of Flight preserves and displays aircraft history and artifacts of Southern California's aviation heritage at Torrance Airport. Visitors see and touch airplanes that made aviation history, along with completed and in-progress aircraft restoration projects. The collection includes unique and prototype aircraft, target drones, piston and jet aircraft engines, aircraft components, ejection seats, World War II instruments, aircrew accessories, and an extensive model aircraft collection. The museum operates educational programs including the Kids Aerospace Discovery Zone and the Kids Love Aviation Science program, offering hands-on STEM learning for students. The museum also hosts celebrity lecture series events celebrating Southern California's aerospace legacy. Open Friday through Monday, the museum charges admission and operates on a non-profit basis through the Southern California Historical Aviation Foundation.
