About Travis Air Force Base Aviation Museum

The Travis Air Force Base Aviation Museum displays military aircraft and related exhibits on the grounds of Travis AFB. Visitors explore the museum and gift shop, which feature aircraft on display including an F-4C "Phantom II" fighter jet currently positioned at the David Grant Medical Center gate. The F-4C, a twin-engine all-weather fighter originally designed for the U.S. Navy, saw extensive service in Vietnam and achieved 42 enemy kills between 1965 and 1967. The aircraft on display was later converted to an EF-4C Wild Weasel flak suppression variant and operated by the California Air National Guard before arriving at the museum. Visitors without military identification must contact the base Visitor Control Center to arrange access; those with Department of Defense identification may enter through the main gate. The museum operates Tuesday through Sunday. The location is Travis AFB, California.
