The Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Center is an interpretive center where visitors explore one of Earth's largest intact coastal dune ecosystems spanning 18 miles of coastline. Inside the center, visitors encounter animal specimens, interactive activities, and short films about the local area. The complex encompasses nearly 22,000 acres of public recreation land. From the center, visitors access directions to multiple points of interest including Oso Flaco Lake, with its mile-long wheelchair-accessible boardwalk crossing freshwater wetlands to the ocean, and Rancho Guadalupe Dunes Preserve County Park, offering dramatic views and miles of beach hiking. The center also features an excavated sphinx from Cecil B. DeMille's 1923 film production of The Ten Commandments.
