The Chapman Estate in Shell Beach offers visitors tours of a Tudor-style mansion perched above the Pacific Ocean, with an interior dining room and spaces filled with an eclectic collection of sculptures, paintings, collectibles and antiques gathered from around the globe. The estate sits surrounded by meticulously manicured gardens, a koi pond, a begonia house, a landmark windmill, and a lighthouse. Visitors explore the gardens, admire the unique architecture, and view antique furnishings preserved from the 1930s home. The Foundation hosts Sunsets in the Gardens with live music, garden and house tours, and open gate access for picnics. The estate welcomes community members for these activities while preserving the philanthropic legacy of Clifford Chapman, who during his lifetime hosted local artists, musicians, and writers. The Chapman Estate is located off Highway 101 in Shell Beach near boutique hotels, restaurants, and shops.
