About Southampton History Museum
Southampton History Museum features the special exhibition Stephen Sayre's American Revolution, exploring the life of one of the region's overlooked figures in America's fight for independence. Visitors explore the Rogers Mansion Museum Complex, which includes period rooms and changing exhibitions across 14 historic buildings, along with an Archives & Research Center housing over 2,000 volumes on subjects from genealogy to historic architecture. The museum operates four separate heritage sites: the Pelletreau Silver Shop on Main Street, the Halsey House and garden, and Conscience Point Historic Site with a nature walk. A working Carriage House Thrift Shop operates seasonally. The collections encompass more than 3,000 objects and 560 cubic feet of archival material spanning over 400 years of local history, including decorative art, fine art, photographs, maps, and manuscripts. The museum suits anyone interested in local heritage, from genealogy researchers to those exploring Revolutionary War history. Located in Southampton, New York, all historic sites and exhibitions offer free admission.
