The San Antonio Model Railroad Association operates the Bob Clarke Rail Heritage Museum in a dedicated 4,000-square-foot building in Live Oak, Texas. Visitors watch the San Antonio & Northern Railway, a large HO scale model railroad layout, run realistic operations throughout the facility. On Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons, "Fun Run" days let guests observe members operating multiple trains across the entire layout. On the first and third Saturdays of each month, "Operating Sessions" recreate prototype railroad procedures, with members following train manifests and dispatcher authority while switching cars at designated locations. Wednesday and Saturday work days showcase members adding scenery, performing track work, building scenes, and wiring circuits. The museum welcomes people of all ages interested in model railroading, from newcomers to experienced hobbyists. General admission is free, with the museum open on select days throughout the week.
