About Witte Museum

The Witte Museum in San Antonio combines nature, science, and cultural history across several major galleries. Visitors explore the Naylor Family Dinosaur Gallery, which transports them millions of years into the past to discover Cretaceous Period animals that once inhabited Texas. The McLean Family Texas Wild Gallery immerses guests in the state's diverse ecosystems, from the Rio Grande Valley to the Panhandle Plains, featuring more than 150 Texas animals in their dramatic natural environments. The museum also presents temporary exhibitions, including displays about pterosaurs and the museum's own centennial history. Beyond galleries, the Witte hosts special events, game dinners, and after-hours celebrations. Families with children under twelve should note that adult supervision is required throughout the museum. Free parking is available in the Brackenridge Park Parking Garage. The museum is located at 3801 Broadway in Brackenridge Park and is accessible by public transit on VIA routes 9 and 14. Complimentary wheelchairs are available upon request at the admissions desk.
