About San Antonio Museum of Art

San Antonio Museum of Art houses five thousand years of art across wings dedicated to ancient Greek, Roman, and Egyptian works alongside the Nelson A. Rockefeller Latin American art wing and Asian galleries displaying Korean, Indian, Japanese, and Chinese ceramics. The museum occupies a complex of buildings that once housed the Lone Star Brewery. Visitors explore rotating exhibitions including The Etruscans: From the Heart of Ancient Italy and Samurai Spirit: Swords, Accessories, and Paintings. Children 12 and under receive free general admission. Bexar County residents enter free during Tuesday evenings from 4 to 7 p.m. or second Sundays from 10 a.m. to noon. SNAP food assistance recipients pay $3 per person for up to four people with an EBT card. Bank of America and Merrill Lynch cardholders receive one free admission on the first full weekend of each month. Students from Alamo Colleges, Trinity University, University of the Incarnate Word, University of Texas at San Antonio, and Texas A&M University-San Antonio enter free with valid ID.
