About Briscoe Western Art Museum

Briscoe Western Art Museum displays art and artifacts spanning wildlife, Native peoples, Tejano vaquero heritage, and the American frontier. Visitors explore rotating exhibitions including Tejano Legacy and Selena Forever, plus the permanent collection and McNutt Sculpture Garden. The museum hosts curator-led tours, masterclasses, concerts, and painting workshops throughout the year. The building, nestled on the San Antonio River Walk, was originally San Antonio's public library in the 1930s and reopened as the Briscoe in 2013. General admission is $16; children 12 and under enter free. San Antonio and Bexar County residents receive free admission on the first Sunday of each month. SNAP, WIC, and MAP recipients qualify for free admission through Museums for All, up to four people per EBT card. Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, and U.S. Trust cardholders gain one free admission during the first full weekend of the month. Visitors with Dolph or Briscoe in their name receive free admission.
