Richland Carrousel Park in Mansfield, Ohio features a hand-carved wooden carousel built in 1991, the first newly constructed carousel of its kind in the United States since the 1930s. Visitors ride one of 52 unique wooden animal figures or two ADA-accessible chariots, all hand-carved and painted locally. The carousel was created in the iconic style of G.A. Dentzel and is accompanied by a Stinson Band Organ made in Bellefontaine, Ohio. The park anchors downtown Mansfield's Carrousel District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The carousel operates seasonally with varying hours throughout the week. The park serves as a wholesome family resource and is wheelchair accessible. Special events including birthday parties, weddings, memorials and seasonal celebrations with visiting characters take place at the location.
