Ohio Bird Sanctuary welcomes visitors to hand-feed songbirds with mealworms while hiking boardwalks and footpaths through woods and marshes along the Clear Fork River headwaters. The sanctuary's 87 permanent resident birds include named raptors like Seymour the Great Horned Owl, Pippin the Peregrine Falcon, and Gus the Bald Eagle, alongside vultures, crows, and an aviary of blue jays, cardinals, and Baltimore Orioles. Most displays are wheelchair and stroller accessible. The sanctuary offers guided field trips, day camps, raptor shows, and a Junior Naturalist program for ages 3 and up, with outreach presentations at schools and senior centers throughout Ohio. Fall Photo Friday events invite photographers of all levels to capture ambassador birds in natural settings. Admission is charged and published online; military personnel receive a reduced rate at the gate. The sanctuary operates in Mansfield, Ohio, and is closed Mondays.
