About Ohio Bird Sanctuary

The Ohio Bird Sanctuary in Mansfield is a 90-acre nature preserve where visitors hike footpaths and boardwalks through woods and marshes along the Clear Fork River to observe native birds. Guests can hand-feed mealworms to aviary residents and view species including Great Horned Owls, Peregrine Falcons, and Cedar Waxwings. Most displays are wheelchair and stroller accessible. The Sanctuary offers guided field trips, day camps for ages 3–15, live raptor shows, meet-and-greets with avian ambassadors, and a Junior Naturalist program. Educational programs are available at the Sanctuary and at schools and community venues throughout the state. Specialized encounters serve preschoolers, visitors with special needs, and assisted-living residents. The facility also rescues and rehabilitates injured and orphaned native birds of prey and songbirds, with birds unable to return to the wild becoming permanent avian ambassadors on display.
