Oak Hill Cottage is a meticulously restored Gothic Revival house museum operated by the Richland County Historical Society in Mansfield, Ohio. Visitors tour the 1847 home built by railroad builder and engineer John Riley Robinson, situated beside an ancient oak tree overlooking the town. The house is exceptionally well documented, featured in an 1896 county atlas and as the focal point of Louis Bromfield's first novel. Dr. Johannes Jones and his family occupied Oak Hill from 1864 until 1965, when the Historical Society opened it to the public. The interior displays original furnishings and artifacts belonging to the Jones family, including Victorian-era clothing, photographs, furniture, and personal belongings. Small group weekday and Saturday tours are available by appointment. The museum operates on regular schedule during spring and fall months.
