About Sunrise Sanctuary
Sunrise Sanctuary is a non-profit animal refuge in Marysville where visitors meet and interact with rescued farm and companion animals. The sanctuary cares for over 140 formerly abused, neglected, or unwanted animals across 19 acres, including pocket pets, birds, fowl, and farm animals. During Open Barn Days, visitors tour the grounds, ask questions, photograph residents, and spend time with the animals in a two-hour session. The sanctuary also hosts special events throughout the year, such as Yoga with the Animals, led by a yoga instructor with vegan snacks included, and Art with the Animals, featuring a guided tour followed by an art session. Private tours and field trips are available by arrangement. Visitors should move respectfully around the animals, avoiding chasing or herding, loud noises, or running. Children must be accompanied by adults. Tickets are sold online through the sanctuary's website.
