About Reflections of Manatee

Reflections of Manatee is a museum in Bradenton that preserves and interprets the history of people who settled along the Manatee River. Visitors tour three historic houses at the Curry Houses Historic District and explore exhibits about early settlement and the Underground Railroad. The Samuel G. and Amanda Curry House, built around 1860, is furnished to show what a Gulf coast Florida home looked like in the 1800s. The Mary Amelia Curry House displays artifacts from archaeological investigations of the early settlement. The Theodosia Curry House serves as the visitor center and houses the exhibit "Freedom Seekers at the Manatee," which tells the story of the maroon community of Angola and Florida's Underground Railroad. The museum is located next to Manatee Mineral Spring Park and Riverwalk East in Bradenton. Tours are offered Thursday through Saturday, with additional tours available by appointment.
