About Sarasota Art Museum

Sarasota Art Museum is a contemporary art museum in Sarasota where visitors explore rotating exhibitions across fifteen thousand square feet of gallery space on three floors. Current exhibitions include Beautiful Ideas: The Prints of Sol LeWitt, featuring over three hundred fifty print projects including lithographs, silkscreens, etchings, and woodcuts, and Something Borrowed, Something New, showcasing work by acclaimed modern and contemporary artists. The museum occupies the historic M. Leo Elliott Building, a former Sarasota High School. Beyond the galleries, the campus includes the Marcy & Michael Klein Plaza with outdoor sculpture and site-responsive installations, plus the Great Lawn. A bistro serves light fare including sandwiches, soups, and specialty coffees daily. The museum shop offers art-related gifts. Visitors can attend Jazz Thursdays, held on second Thursdays with music and drinks on the plaza, or join weekly programs. The museum suits art enthusiasts and families exploring contemporary visual culture. Free admission is available on the second Sunday of each month. The museum is located in Sarasota, Florida.
