The Hernando de Soto Historical Society is a nonprofit organization founded in 1939 that celebrates Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto's landing near the mouth of the Manatee River in 1539. Visitors participate in the organization's numerous community events throughout the year, including the Main Street Putt-Putt, a miniature golf tournament that doubles as a pub crawl, and the Charity Golf Tournament. The society also hosts the De Soto Ball, a coronation ball with an associated Queen Selection Program, along with the Grand Parade, one of the largest night-time parades in the Southeastern United States. Additional events include the Children's Parade, River Regatta with Little Anglers activities, Beertopia, Amigos Tapas, City Capture, cornhole tournaments, and a Goats Charity Fundraiser. The organization operates through more than 20 volunteer committees and redistributes fundraising revenue to local charities and educational programs. Located in Bradenton, the society maintains a sister city relationship with Barcarrota, Spain, De Soto's hometown.
Hernando De Soto Historical Society publishes its own offers, and when desotohq.com was last read, on , there was none.
The page stays here because the attraction is still worth knowing about, and because we keep checking. If a deal appears on their site, it appears here.
