About Olde Town Texas Historical Park
Olde Town Texas Historical Park in Seguin preserves the oldest standing historical home in Texas, now open to the public for the first time in nearly 200 years. Visitors explore the 1831 Log Cabin, where the first shot of the Battle of Gonzales could be heard, and tour the Historical Home to experience Texas independence, the Republic of Texas, and early statehood. The park features the Immortal 32 House, the Ranchhouse with its El Capote Ranch Treehouse, and a distinctive centuries-old oak tree growing through the ranch house roof. The Donkey Rescue Ranch showcases farm animals important to Texas settlers, including the park's mascot Marley. Guests walk from the hilltop to the meadows experiencing old-time family activities and exhibits spanning 1831 to 1865. The park hosts special events and offers volunteer opportunities for those interested in Texas history.
