About The Seguin-Guadalupe Heritage Museum

The Seguin-Guadalupe Heritage Museum preserves and educates visitors about Seguin and Guadalupe County history. Located in the historic Baenziger Building in downtown Seguin, the museum functions as a major repository for county archives. Visitors explore founding documents for Seguin and the entire collection of Leon Studios photographs and materials. The museum displays exhibits covering local heritage while hosting educational programs and outreach events that bring regional history to life. Notable offerings include evening programs featuring local historians, authors, and county officials discussing iconic figures in Texas history and culture. The museum also maintains comprehensive archival collections documenting Guadalupe County's development and significance within Texas's Independence Region. Founded in 1992 and formally opened in 1998, the institution has become the central archive for research into the area's past and cultural legacy.
