About Oakland Nature Preserve

Oakland Nature Preserve offers outdoor exploration through trails, the Healthy West Orange Boardwalk, and Blue Hike Kayak Tours. Visitors can explore the Jim Thomas Environmental Education Center, a Virtual Museum, pollinator and bird gardens, and participate in the ONP Escape Adventure Scavenger Hunt. The preserve features educational programs including homeschool classes, field trips, family programming, and an Environmental Summer Camp. Science Saturdays and the Florida Master Naturalist Program provide structured learning opportunities. Seasonal events like Nature Fest, the Pumpkin Glow Jack-o-lantern Trail, Firefly Nights, an Earth Day Celebration, and meditative hike and yoga sessions at the lake add variety throughout the year. Birthday parties and outreach programs are available for groups.
