About Colt Creek State Park

Colt Creek State Park encompasses more than 5,000 acres of native Central Florida habitat where visitors explore longleaf pine flatwoods, lakes, winding creeks, and cypress domes. The park is home to bald eagles, white-tailed deer, American alligators, otters, gopher tortoises, Sherman's fox squirrels, and numerous birds and butterflies. More than 15 miles of multiuse trails wind through pine flatwoods and wetlands, shared by hikers, bicyclists, and horseback riders. Park lakes offer views of wading birds and alligators, and a 75-foot accessible dock serves anglers. Camping options include primitive campsites, an equestrian campground, and a group campground. Pavilions available on a first-come, first-served basis or by reservation suit family reunions, birthday parties, weddings, and corporate events. Educational ranger-guided hikes, tram tours, and special events round out the experience. The park is located in Lakeland, Florida, and publishes its hours and admission prices online.
