About Nyack Beach State Park

Nyack Beach State Park sits at the base of Hook Mountain as one of the best hawk and raptor viewing areas in the U.S., drawing birders and nature watchers year after year. The 76-acre park, designated a Registered National Natural Historical Landmark by the U.S. Department of the Interior, serves as the southern terminus of the first section of the Hudson River Greenway. Visitors walk lakeside trails through wooded areas, hike along the shore, and explore the grounds in all seasons, from winter ice skating on frozen water to spring and fall hiking. The park's shoreline features ice chunks and rocky formations in winter and calm water reflecting trees in warmer months. Winter activities include snow-covered trail hiking and ice skating when conditions permit. The park operates dawn to dusk and has no restrooms. Located in Upper Nyack, New York, Nyack Beach State Park suits hikers, birders, trail walkers and anyone seeking waterfront access along the Hudson River.
