About Nautical History Gallery & Museum

The Nautical History Gallery & Museum in San Diego explores U.S. Navy history from 1776 through 1945. Located at Liberty Station in the Navy Command Center Building, the museum was created and curated by artist Joseph Frangiosa Jr. Visitors examine detailed exhibits covering major naval periods including the Spanish-American War, World War I, and World War II. The collection features scale ship models representing famous vessels such as the USS Constitution, USS Langley, and USS Nicholas. A six-foot cut-away model provides an interior view of battleship construction. Additional exhibits display naval uniforms, model guns, and toy ships from various eras. The museum serves those interested in American military history and naval traditions. General admission is free.
