About Museum of Contemporary Visual Art

The Museum of Contemporary Visual Art in Plano showcases the works of master visual artists alongside celebrated children's book illustrators and child art. Visitors explore permanent galleries including the Dollhouse Hall, Great Books gallery, Sculpture Gallery, Persian Literature and Poetry collection, and the Illustrator Library. The museum features rotating exhibitions and maintains a Sculpture Garden. Outside the main building, the Downtown Plano Sculpture Walk extends the experience into the surrounding area. The institution also examines how children perceive their environment through exhibits on the Stages of Child Art and Interpreting Children's Drawing. Founded in 2015, it was the first art museum in the northern DFW Metroplex dedicated to this dual mission. The museum serves artists, families with children, and anyone interested in contemporary visual art and illustration.
