About Monastic Heritage Center
Monastic Heritage Center is a museum and visitor facility within the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, Georgia. Day visitors tour the Monastic Museum at the Visitor Center, attend communal prayer services in the Abbey Church including Vigils, Morning Prayer, Midday Prayer, Vespers, and Compline, and browse the Abbey Store. The grounds offer self-guided exploration including a Prayer Walk featuring Cistercian Saints, Magnolia Lane, Monastery Lakes where visitors feed ducks, outdoor Stations of the Cross along the lake, and the Rockdale River trail for biking or walking. The Visitor Center displays interactive exhibits about Christian monasticism from its ancient origins through the Cistercian order. A typical visit to the Visitor Center and Abbey Church takes two to three hours. Located about thirty-five minutes outside Metro Atlanta, the Monastery sits within the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area.
