About Center For Puppetry Arts

The Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta showcases puppet performance and artistry through live shows, exhibitions, and hands-on workshops. Visitors attend award-winning puppet performances such as Everybody Loves Pirates and The Wizard of Oz, featuring hand-crafted puppets and elaborate sets. The museum displays the Jim Henson Collection and the Global Collection, plus rotating exhibitions like Frame by Frame: The Art of Stop-Motion Animation. Workshops and classes in techniques such as Hand and Rod puppetry teach visitors to build and manipulate puppets themselves. The bright green building at Spring Street and 18th Street in Atlanta opens Tuesday through Sunday, with extended hours for evening performances.
