Mid-South Military Museum, Inc. in Atoka preserves military history through displays of artifacts, memorabilia, and vehicles spanning from the Civil War to present day. Visitors explore a 1940s Living Room, Weapons Display, WWI Trench diorama, and WWII Parisian streetside café diorama. The museum houses numerous military vehicles including a WWII Willys GPW, M16A1 halftrack, M20 armored car, M38A1 jeep, Bell UH-1 Huey helicopter, M151 MUTT, M274 MULE, Dodge M37, and both an M3 75mm pack howitzer and M3 105mm howitzer. Established as a nonprofit in 1990, the museum acquired its initial collection from a defunct museum and has since received donations of uniforms, equipment, and memorabilia from veterans and their families. Full-size dioramas provide immersive historical context. The museum engages visitors of all ages with historic artifacts they can touch, feel, and operate, making it suitable for school groups and families interested in military heritage and the sacrifices of the armed forces.
