About Davies Manor Historic Site

Davies Manor Historic Site preserves the oldest home in Shelby County open to the public, along with thirty-two historic acres near Memphis. Visitors tour the log home with docent guides to learn about rural farm life from 1830 to 1930. The grounds include a sharecropper's cabin, a restored commissary, two nineteenth-century frontier-style cabins, and a post-antebellum schoolhouse added in 2022. A permanent exhibit interprets the history of slavery and sharecropping at Davies Plantation. Guests walk the arboretum trail, explore the gardens, and view the various outbuildings through self-guided tours. Homeschool days and field trip activities serve educational groups, while Davies Traveling Trunks bring learning materials to schools. The site hosts special events including a quilt show. Davies Manor charges admission, with prices published online, and sits in Bartlett, Tennessee.
