The Memphis Brooks Museum of Art in Memphis invites visitors to explore diverse exhibitions across 29 galleries housed in a historic Beaux Arts building in Overton Park. The permanent collection contains over 10,000 works of art. Current exhibitions include "Memphis College of Art, 1936-2020: An Enduring Legacy," which documents the college's 84-year history, "Navigating Knowledge," exploring vessels and navigation as metaphors for ideas and migration, and "David Uzochukwu: Bodies of Water," a solo exhibition featuring hybrid beings in surreal landscapes. Nearly 12,000 children participate in free school tours annually that include hands-on art activities. The museum operates a print study room, research library, and auditorium hosting independent films, lectures, terrace concerts, and dance performances. Additional facilities include two art classrooms, a café, and meeting spaces.
