About Dixon Gallery & Gardens

Dixon Gallery and Gardens is an art museum and public garden spanning seventeen acres in East Memphis. Visitors explore rotating art exhibitions alongside a renowned permanent collection in the main galleries, including current shows such as "An Investment in Pleasure: Fifty Years of the Dixon Gallery and Gardens Collection" and "Making an Impression." The grounds feature formal gardens, woodland paths, and seasonal plantings of hydrangeas and tulips. The museum offers programs for all ages, including Taijiquan classes, yoga sessions, fiber arts open studios, youth workshops in scale and figure drawing, Mini Masters for ages two to four, and the Kaleidoscope Club for ages five to nine. A café, museum shop, and the historic Residence are also on the grounds. Visitors planning to experience both galleries and gardens should allow one and a half to two and a half hours.
