About Hocking Valley Scenic Railway

Hocking Valley Scenic Railway operates historic train rides from Nelsonville, Ohio, along a 150-plus-year-old railroad route through the Hocking Valley. Visitors board diesel or steam locomotives for round-trip journeys that showcase the Hocking River and regional scenery. The East Logan train ride, the railway's most popular offering, departs regularly and includes stops at Robbins Crossing Historical Village, a historic site operated by Hocking College. Seasonal train rides feature fall foliage routes and themed experiences such as Halloween trains and elegant dinner trains. The railway also operates special steam locomotive charters and spotting excursions. A non-profit organization founded in 1972, the railway has restored numerous historic locomotives, passenger cars and railroad equipment for public education and entertainment.
