About Historic Sugartown

Historic Sugartown's Gold Tooling Workshop teaches bookbinding techniques in a restored 19th-century village along Sugartown Road in Malvern, Pennsylvania. Guided tours lasting about ninety minutes include visits to the General Store and School Room exhibits, the Carriage Museum with its collection of horse-drawn carriages and sleighs, the circa 1805 Garrett House, Book Bindery, and Bank Barn. The site also offers other hands-on classes such as marbling instruction. Visitors experience how early residents conducted business, exchanged news, and built community at this former crossroads serving surrounding farming areas and Philadelphia-bound traders. The village operates seasonally with tours on weekends; tickets are sold online through the venue's site and also available on site. Children ages 2 and younger are admitted free. The venue publishes three paid admission prices online for adults, seniors, and students.
